Theodore “Ted” Gill, 90, of South Windsor, beloved husband of 63 years of Betty (Gilbert) Gill, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 12, 2018. Born in Coventry to the late Martin and Mary (Wilk) Gill, he has been a South Windsor resident for over 60 years and was a member of Wapping Community Church in South Windsor and a lifetime member of the Local Painter’s Union #481. Ted enjoyed spending time at his summer home in Waterford and going to BINGO with his wife, but most important was his family, especially his grandson and light of his life, Brandon. Besides his wife Betty of South Windsor, he is survived by his daughter Beth Pulford and her husband Robert of South Windsor; his grandson Brandon; and special cousins, Marie Jones, James Sisson and William Sisson. His family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ray Kurker and the staff of Beacon Hospice for their compassionate care of Ted. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Monday, April 16 at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd South Windsor followed by burial in Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor. His family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 AM to 11 AM. In lieu of flowers please make a memorial donation in Ted’s memory to the youth mission trip to the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Reservation in La Plant, South Dakota this summer, checks may be made out to Wapping Community Church, 1790 Ellington Road, South Windsor, CT 06074, Note: SPF Mission Trip.
