Steven R. Thomas, 65, of East Hartford, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Hartford Hospital. He was born August 21, 1952, in Hartford, CT; son of the late Merrill and Ruth (Vines) Thomas. Steven grew up in South Windsor and was a graduate of South Windsor High School Class of 1970. He spent several years in Coventry before moving to East Hartford where he spent the last ten years. Steven worked at Big Lots as a sales clerk, drove trucks and worked as a teenager for Reichley’s Farms. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, the Dallas Cowboys and had a love for Mustangs especially his Shelby. Steven is survived by his siblings, Brady Thomas, Randall Thomas, Donna Fellows and Jacalyn Thomas and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may join the family for calling hour on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor.
