Sheila Patricia (Francis) Briscoe, 78, of Hartford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 1, 2018, surrounded by her family at her home. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies on December 3, 1939, daughter of the late Eric Barrington and Albertine (McCoy) Francis, she was raised in Kingston, Jamaica and was a graduate of Holy Childhood High School. Sheila immigrated to the United States in June, 1969 and settled in Hartford where she had lived until the time of her passing. Sheila worked as a machinist for over 20 years at Stanadyne Corporation in Windsor until her retirement. She was a parishioner for many years of St. Justin-St. Michael Parish in Hartford. She leaves to mourn her passing, four children, Edmaureen Dixon-Sampson of Winter Park, FL, George Briscoe and Simone Sewell of Vernon, Monique Briscoe of Enfield, and Natasha Briscoe of Hartford; a brother, Winston Francis and his wife Angela of Watford, United Kingdom; nine grandchildren, Kyle Sampson, Anastasia Collins, Deja Briscoe, McCoy Briscoe, Marquise Briscoe, Savion Briscoe, Justice M-Beaulieu, Nehemiah Briscoe, Bryce Briscoe, and Ashale Isaacs; and a great-granddaughter, Aniyah Sampson. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Gladstone Francis and Hector Francis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday, February 17, 11 a.m., at St. Justin-St. Michael Parish, 230 Blue Hills Ave., Hartford. Burial will be private.
