Dr. Jolyon Simeon Tucker passed away on May 8, 2018 after a brief illness. Dr. Tucker was an eminent neurologist in the Hartford area since 1959. After serving in the U.S. Army and as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, he moved to West Hartford and entered private practice. He continued to practice neurology until his retirement in 2005. He was a clinical instructor of neurology both at Yale and at Hartford Hospital. He was a Renaissance man who loved opera, was a talented painter, and student of languages. He was a kind man who was very devoted to his patients, students and family. He was married for 50 years to Barbara (Malinoff) Tucker, who predeceased him. He leaves behind his son Jeffrey Tucker, wife Peggy Moran, grandchildren Jennifer, Richard, great grandchildren Sophia and Selma; daughter Elizabeth Berman, husband Gary; and son John Tucker, wife Diane, and granddaughter Julia. He also leaves behind his sister, Janice Wasserman and her husband, Leonard. Services will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. Shiva will be observed at 6:30 pm on Thursday and again at 6:30 pm Saturday May 12, 2018 at 89 Brookside Drive, in West Hartford. In lieu of flowers donations in Dr. Tucker’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
