Gail Adele Sindland, 73, of East Hartland, beloved wife for 54 years of Lloyd A. “Fritz” Sindland, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Hartford on October 18, 1944, daughter of the late Frank P. and Frances (Bates) Roarke, she was raised in Hartford before moving to East Hartland with her family as a young girl. Gail graduated from Gilbert High School with the Class of 1962, and soon after she married Fritz Sindland. The young couple stayed in East Hartland where they raised their three children, John, Kathleen, and Steven. After her children were in school, Gail returned to work first at the Coach & Four in East Hartland and later at Culbro Land Resources where she stayed until her retirement in the late 1990’s. In her spare time and during her retirement, Gail enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motorhome throughout the United States and Canada. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in East Hartland where she looked forward to participating in the Women’s Bible Study each Friday. Besides her husband Fritz, she leaves a son, John Sindland and his wife Debbie of Fort Smith, MT; a daughter, Kathleen Sindland of East Hartland; a brother, Jack Roarke and his wife Patricia of East Hartland; a sister, Joan Carew and her husband John of East Lyme; three grandchildren, Nathaniel Sindland of East Hartland, and Danielle and Dylan Sindland both of West Hartland; her daughter-in-law, Michelle Sindland of West Hartland; and three nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Steven Sindland in 2017. Her family will receive friends on Friday, April 20, 10-11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., at the Bethany Lutheran Brethren Church, 116 Walnut Hill Rd., East Hartland. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in East Hartland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Bethany Lutheran Brethren Church, P.O. Box 250, East Hartland, CT 06027. Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home in Granby has care of the arrangements.
