Barbara Joan Corjulo, 85, of Simsbury and formerly of Avon, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018. Born in Portsmouth, VA, daughter of the late William and Katherine (Clarke) Holloway. Barbara was raised in Virginia and lived in Avon for 30 years prior to moving to Canton/Simsbury in 2006. She had been a registered nurse in Virginia prior to moving to the Farmington Valley. She served on the board of the Friends of the Avon Free Public Library and was a volunteer with FAVARH. She leaves her three daughters Amanda Gumbs and Melissa Corjulo both of Simsbury and Katherine Elizabeth Morneault and her husband Jason of Plainville; four sons Peter of Suffield, Daniel of West Hartford, Clay and his wife Meghan of Port Ewen, NY, and Adam of New Hartford; grandchildren Henry, Ryan, Hannah, Kacey, Clara, and Mark Corjulo, Auguste and Sebastian Gumbs, Maia Schafer, and Eric Harris. She was predeceased by a brother William Holloway and a sister Shirley Holloway. Her family will receive friends Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at the Church of Saint Ann, 289 Arch Road Avon, burial will follow at West Avon Cemetery.
