I just found out Wasili had died.Wasili was my best friend in Thomas Jefferson high school in Brooklyn. I wore outmany pairs of sneakers playing handball with Wasili. I never got use to calling him Lou. For someone with no background in sailing, I was amazed when he bought his first sailboat which he invited me on. I remember Wasili putting in kitchen cabinets by himself. Wasili was a very bright and kind person. I will always remember him fondly. Rest in peace my friend. Raymond Polak

Dear Anna, Greg, Marie, Laura and Kristin,

Words seem inadequate to express the sorrow we feel for you. The magnitude of the grief you are suffering is simply unimaginable.

Lou was such a sweet man and a wonderful neighbor. We will always remember being guests on your sailboat in Darien. Captain Lou and his first mate were a great team, navigating the Darien waters and making their guests feel comfortable and welcomed.
